Ebook Tangled The Tangled Series Emma Chase 9781476761770 Books

In New York Times bestselling author Emma Chase’s sizzling and hilarious debut novel, Drew Evans—gorgeous, arrogant, irreverent, and irresistibly charming—meets his match in new colleague Kate Brooks.
When rich, handsome, and arrogant meets beautiful, brilliant, and ambitious, things are bound to get tangled...
Drew Evans makes multimillion-dollar business deals and seduces New York’s most beautiful women with just a smile. So why has he been shuttered in his apartment for seven days, miserable and depressed? He’ll tell you he has the flu, but we all know that’s not really true.
When Katherine Brooks is hired as the new associate at Drew’s father’s investment banking firm, every aspect of the dashing playboy’s life is thrown into a tailspin. The professional competition she brings is unnerving, his attraction to her is distracting, his failure to entice her into his bed is exasperating.
How can one woman turn a smooth-talking player into a broken, desperate man? By making the one thing he never wanted in life the only thing he can’t live without.

"Such a great start. I loved how Drew and Kate meet. I love the bickering, the competitiveness, the pranks, and the passion. They were combustible. The author is so talented. The writing flowed and the characters came to life. I wanted to find out how these two reached their HEA so freaking bad. I tried. I really tried but there are things I just can't stomach. I couldn't finish. ***Spoiler Alert*** If you don't want to be spoiled then stop now. I don't think it's a spoiler that is important enough to ruin the book but I have to warn you.
Drew starts out being a serious player. Now I could have probably overlooked it if the author didn't make it a point to tell the reader every time Drew screwed a woman who was not Kate. I overlooked the first one because he just barely spoke to Kate and then she was gone. I overlooked the second one because they still didn't really know each other and Kate is engaged. It was very difficult to overlook. By the third time Drew slept with someone else, I'd had enough. By then they were friends of sorts and he was fantasizing about Kate regularly. They were finally in good terms and the attraction was obviously mutual yet it didn't stop him from screwing yet another chick in the back of a cab. My stomach turned one too many times. Kate is still engaged at this point but we don't hear about every time she has sex. Why do we have to hear about Drew? I got the point when he did the coffee shop chick. I didn't need to hear about it ever again. It was obvious then that he was very active. The point was made so move on.
This author is awesome so I plan to try a different book by her. Hopefully, I will not have to DNF again."

- At first I skipped over this book in my to read list because it was so expensive, over twice as much as another book on the list but once I saw how many people had read it and it’s average rating I decided to give it a shot and boy am I glad I did.
I’m not sure that I’ve ever read a book in this person before but I have to say that I loved it. It felt like the author was reading the book to me and laying all of the scenes out for me.
Drew. Holy shit Drew! I mean even as a cad and a womanizer, I couldn’t help but laugh with him and shake my head at some of his antics but he’s impossible not to like.
And Kate. Holy powerhouse woman! I’m not sure it’s possible to dislike her or to be able to not stand with her woman to woman. I love her take no prisoners attitude and how she laid it all out there with no apologies.
Drew finally met his match in Kate and it was glorious to watch! Of course I smacked myself in the forehead when he pretended to be on the phone with a slut in front of Kate but I cheered him on throughout the re-wooing process and hoped that Kate would see his intentions were true.
Fantastic book! Read in one day. On to the next in the series. Get this book!! Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed. - Such a great start. I loved how Drew and Kate meet. This author is awesome so I plan to try a different book by her. Hopefully, I will not have to DNF again. - I'm baffled by the amount of 5 star reviews. Sure, there aren't any apparent mistakes in spelling and grammar. But saying that you like Drew? Or that you think Kate is a strong woman? I mean... how did I hate this book? Let me count the ways
1) Drew is a chauvinistic, entitled, self-centered, sexual harasser. He is not funny. He's a pig. Just because he's winking at you (reader) while he's talking (in an extremely derogatory way) about the women he screws (and dumps), doesn't mean he's cute. It just means he thinks he's a gift to women and that he thinks we should be grateful for him. I would just love it if he got tested for STDs because I'm seriously thinking Kate ends up with something.
2) Kate may be hard-working and relentless in her job, but not calling him out on any on the crap he pulls in the middle of the OFFICE trying to WIN HER BACK and completely diminishing her role there? Sure, she doesn't take him back immediately, but at no point does she say "Yo, dude, that thing you did where you embarrassed me in front of all our coworkers? Where you made it clear that the fact that you're the boss's son means that you're allowed to point out that you have feelings for me, ignoring my role in the company and putting me in the awful position of being unable to call you out on that because I might get fired? Not cool, dude, not cool."
3) There was no love between the characters. Only physical chemistry (and up to a point). The only hint we have of an appreciation Drew has of Kate has to do with her looks. That's it.
4) When they're fighting for the main account at the beginning, even if they're both supposedly successful and great at their jobs, they opt to vandalize computer equipment and ruin each other - sure, that makes me respect them.
5) I won't even get into how disgustingly demeaning Drew's friends are towards women, or the fact that he refers to his sister as "That Bitch." She is lovely to her brother, so... she's mean?
6) Drew is a 12-year-old in the body of a 28-year-old. Seriously. There's no maturity whatsoever.
In conclusion this novel has the horrible trope of a woman changing a man. Ladies, trust me, that's crap. There are actually nice, kind, responsible, respectable men who do not think of women as objects. Do not romanticize the Drews in real life, because they're not worth your time. But if you do, get checked for STDs. (I don't think I've ever written a review this long, that's how much this book pissed me off.)
