- Rented this out as a pair for my Calculus textbook. I needed it to check my answers when I did the practice problems in the textbook. It shows the work so it was really nice to see where I went wrong. Of course it only shows the odd numbers, so if you need help with the even numbers you're pretty much out of luck and going to have to search online. Otherwise, this is a great book to rent out with the actual textbook.
- If you've already bought the essential calculus book because you need it for whatever reason then you might as well buy the solutions manual as well. It's your only hope of ever understanding the material when trying to learn from the essential calculus book. kept their promise about the shipping by the way. I ordered it yesterday and received it today so I am very happy with that since those were the shipping plans =D.
Now I still wouldn't advise anyone to buy either of these books unless they need them for school, but if you have to buy the 1st book(or you already bought it) then make sure to buy this as well while you're at it. You'll spend more money yes, but you will save time when trying to do the homework. Where you would otherwise spend a long time even trying to come up with the right answer, you can now just look at the manual and see how they got it and get how the material works(since they only provide one measly example per problem type that REALLY doesnt prepare you in the least for the homework problems). - When i bought this, i thought it was a paperback of the textbook, so when it came in the mail i was a bit surprised. However, i kept it for use throughout my semester, which ended up really being a good idea. Although it only gives you the answers to the odd numbered problems, if gives you all the work behind it/the reason behind the answer. This was super useful in trying to figure out if i got a problem right or if i was correct in my work. Definitely worth the money. Great for final review studying.
- Skipped too many steps! and only include solution for odd numbers. Waste of money and time.
Very lazy writer. Sometimes, instead of explaining the skipped steps, wrote stuff like Theorem 2, theorem 3 which is not helpful and very time consuming to go back to the specific section and read the whole theorem again. Do not waste your money. - This was extremely helpful with all my calculus classes as it showed the process and allowed me to identify what mistakes I was making and have them corrected.
- Useless if your professor assigns even problems. Book contains only odd solutions. Find the teachers solution manual to guide you through completing your work properly.
- This is my first year will calculus I and this solutions book is absolutely wonderful because it has the answers to the ODD problems only
- My "professor" only give odd number questions. So if you're not going to learn, just use the book your "professor" uses.
